British Values

At Quilters Federation we promote British Values throughout the school; in our school ethos, working environments and lessons.

As a school, we feel it is imperative for children to understand what it means to have ‘values’ and by promoting British Values, this enables children to become the rounded, community conscious Quilteenees and Quiltonians we want them to be in order for them to make a positive contribution to society now and in the future!

According to Ofsted, 'fundamental British values' are:

  • democracy
  • the rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.

As a school, we continue to promote these values and will ensure children understand what they entail. We aim to prepare children for their future as an active member of society and teaching strong values is integral to our school ethos.

We are always looking to establish links with local services, faith groups and organisations, so if you would be interested in sharing / presenting to our children linked to the above British Values, please contact our SMSC lead, Miss Dike, who can be located in the Infant School most days.
